Stark Reality...It's a GREEN world!

Today's lesson:
6 months of waste collection = 6 thousand pounds of recyclable paper = one hot night of sustainable decor...

I've always been a fan of David Stark, former partner in crime to Avi Adler and beloved particpant in the event design world. His thought-provoking, incredibly and immensly detailed installations are more art, rather than short-term event decor.

I woke this morning with an itch to post something that would inspire the "green" side of my brain...with all the recent conversation around "green"/eco-friendly business practices, I wanted to see who in the design/special events world was taking that concept to the next level. David Stark, that's who. His "ReDesign" at the recent eighth annual National Design Awards exemplifies creative "green" concepts.

I love your blog! AND, if your down with being GREEN, check out the show "Big Ideas" on the Sundance Channel.

It's all about these companies that take waste and find ways to produce sustainable products. For example, there's a company called "Strapile". It's a wood furniture manufacture that makes these beautiful tables and chairs out of strap wood.

Here's the link:

It's amazing and really gets you thinking about how you can take something most people view as waste and create beautiful objects out of it.

Your green friend,
Jacqueline.
